The jackfruit is a popular meat substitute among vegetarians and vegans. So it comes as no surprise that it is also the base of the latest innovations from FRoSTA Foodservice. These include Field-Fresh Fish and Field-Fresh Chicken. A good enough reason to take a closer look at the jackfruit. 

Jackfruit is the largest tree fruit in the world. While the flesh of a ripe jackfruit is golden yellow in color, the unripe flesh is more white to light yellow. Both are delicious; the jackfruit can be enjoyed ripe and unripe! The tree (Artocarpus heterophyllus) is originally native to southern India, but is now cultivated in almost all tropical regions of the world. Besides India, the principal production countries include Bangladesh, Thailand, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.
